It’s been a big couple of days for New York Liberty guard and four-time WNBA All-Star Sabrina Ionescu.
On Sept. 14, the first round of WNBA Playoffs kicked off, where Ionescu and her defending champion team took the win against the Phoenix Mercury. The following day, on Sept. 15, the player announced her multi-year partnership with buzzy travel brand Away, underscoring the brand’s ongoing commitment to championing women’s sports (Away was named the Liberty’s Official Luggage Partner earlier this year).
In her debut campaign imagery, Ionescu poses with some of her current favorite travel gear — We say “current favorite” as Ionescu and Away have announced the debut of a limited-edition collection in 2026, reimagining some of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes through the All-Star’s perspective. The lineup of current top picks, deemed “The Gamechangers” on the partnership’s homepage, include The Bigger Carry-On Flex, The Medium: Aluminum Edition and The Medium Flex.

“Travel is such a big part of my life,” says Ionescu. “Whether it’s heading to a game, visiting family, or exploring new places in the off-season, Away has been my go-to travel companion for years. The brand’s focus on quality, performance, and thoughtful design resonates with the way I approach the game. I’m excited to bring my perspective to this collaboration and to work together on initiatives that inspire and support people on all kinds of journeys.”
