There’s a distinct feeling upon entering Caesars New Orleans: a palpable sense of southern hospitality paired with an understated coolness that’s echoed throughout the hotel’s design choices, ambiance and crème de la crème of celebrity chef restaurants. It strikes just the right balance between elegance and approachability.
At the end of 2024, a few months before the city was set to host this year’s Super Bowl, Caesars Entertainment officially completed its $435 million renovation of Harrah’s to Caesars New Orleans. Located on Canal Street in the center of downtown, the new-and-improved hotel and casino is capturing the attention of travelers seeking laid-back luxury, convenience and variety.

Of all the upgrades, a clear standout is Caesars’ exceptional culinary curation, complete with Louisiana’s first-ever Nobu, the upscale Japanese hot spot that deserves every ounce of buzz it’s been given. But Nobu doesn’t stop at the restaurant. Caesars added a two-floor, 54-room Nobu Hotel (a hotel within a hotel), offering accommodations with the same refined, Japanese-inspired minimalism.

The serene, slightly moody atmosphere within the Nobu rooms offers visitors more choice when booking their stay — in terms of vibe, taste and price point. Pick between the Nobu block, the new 340-room Caesars hotel tower and the original Harrah’s tower, located just across the street on Poydras.

The celebrity-driven dining experience continues with the addition of Emeril’s Brasserie from local legend Emeril Lagasse, and an elevated food hall with culinary concepts by Bobby Flay, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro and James Beard Award-winning chef Nina Compton. (Do not skip the Boudin Balls at Nina’s Creole Cottage or the Tarte Flambé at Emeril’s.)
While this year’s French Quarter Festival and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival have come and gone, festival season in NOLA is still in full swing. From July 4 through 6, the Essence Music Festival is taking over the Caesars Superdome, with confirmed performers including Boyz II Men, Davido, Maxwell, Master P, GloRilla, The Isley Brothers, Jermaine Dupri, Nas and Summer Walker.
