As a chronically under-rested person, I know no amount of skin care can replace a full night of good rest. (I am also fully aware of all of the bedtime rules I habitually break.) However, I have managed to find my MVP for my tired, sleep-deprived eyes: Tula’s Rose Glow + Get It Cooling & Brightening eye balm.
This beauty and lifestyle editor has tried every product under the sun that promises to bring to relieve or minimize dark circles. (Full disclosure: a light touch of filler and and my favorite Fenty Beauty concealer also help.) Tula’s cooling eye balm has been my regular skincare savior — just a few swipes and my tired, puffy and dry under-eyes instantly refreshed, thanks to the cooling hero ingredient, menthyl lactate (which contains no menthol or alcohol). It’s brought sweet, icy relief on afternoon work day slumps, long-haul flights and everything in between. Hot days at Disneyland and humid vacations have nothing on this balm: it was a carry-on essential when I went to hot and humid Thailand and Costa Rica this spring.

If you’ve been wanting to try Tula’s probiotic-powered skin care for yourself, now’s a good time to shop (without waiting for Prime Day): through June 30, the brand is offering exclusive promos on Amazon, including half off its bestselling caffeinated eye balms. Use code JUNEGLOW to get a free eye balm when you buy the Everyday Glow Essential Set, or take 50 percent off the Rose Glow or Gold Glow with code EYEBALM50 at checkout.

The game-changing cooling effect isn’t the only thing I love about Tula’s Rose Glow balm. Hyaluronic acid delivers much-needed hydration, and the balm also contains caffeine, aloe water, apple and watermelon, which the brand says helps firm and tighten the appearance of skin to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s also formulated with blueberry to help protect delicate skin and probiotics to promote skin smoothness. Meanwhile, the Gold Glow + Get It eye balm contains a concoction of peptides and collagen for firming and hydrating the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness.
When I’m not traveling, I find myself reaching for Tula’s balm around the 2 o’clock mark — also around the time when I’m also craving a double shot — and it feels like a mini energy drink that makes my eyes feel sufficiently bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
TULA Skin Care Eye Balm + Stick SPF Duo
$39 $56 30% off
I love the travel-friendly .3-ounce size, and that the formula goes on easily over foundation and concealer without creating a cakey effect. Most importantly for my sensitive skin, the balm (like the rest of Tula’s vegan and cruelty-free products), is formulated without fragrances, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, dimethicone, mineral oil and petrolatum, triclosan, formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, oxybenzone. (The dermatologist-tested brand doesn’t use any of the 1,600 ingredients banned by the European Union, and Tula is on Sephora and Ulta’s clean beauty lists.)
I’m not the only one who loves this balm. Tula’s bright blue tube was spotted on Mandy Moore’s bathroom counter (seated right next to another blue bottle by Augustinus Bader) in her Instagram Stories last year, and the This Is Us star also raved about the product in a pandemic GRWM video back in 2020 for the Hollywood-loved Streicher sisters‘ Instagram. Jenna Dewan has said she “loves [Tula’s] products, especially the sunscreen and the sugar scrub,” while Bachelorette alumn Jojo Fletcher previously revealed that the cooling eye balm has “become a favorite thing of mine to toss in my bag any time I’m traveling.” And Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson East also teamed with Tula for the brand’s first celebrity partnership in 2020.

The brand was founded by Dr. Roshini Raj, a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been studying the effects of probiotics on the microbiome for over two decades. As a result, probiotic extracts and superfoods are the foundation of Tula, which boasts clinically effective formulas that help to nourish, soothe and balance the skin, calm irritation and improve hydration.
Next, you can bet I’ll be trying Tula’s 24-7 Power Swipe hydrating eye balm that contains the patent-pending S6Pro Complex “designed to deliver six clinically-proven benefits, helping to restore, nourish, soothe, strengthen, improve and protect all skin types.”
