Pamela Anderson is putting a modern twist on her iconic ’90s style with her new capsule collection with Re/Done.

“Pass it on to the younger generation. It’s a youthful collection. And I wear it too,” Anderson told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday at Re/Done’s Melrose boutique, where she hosted an intimate launch party attended by sons Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee, fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth and Re/Done co-founders Sean Barron and Jamie Mazur.

Priced from $175 to $595, the 25-piece Re/Done & Pam collection comprises eco-conscious wardrobe staples made from California-grown regenerative and organic cotton, such as graphic tees and bodysuits, a dark-wash corset-inspired fitted shirt, an oversized button-down, a chambray mini dress, crystal-embellished denim shorts and skirts, straight-leg jeans and a bedazzled long-sleeved version of Anderson’s “Girl” tee (inspired by the cropped top she wore in 1996).

“We definitely got inspired by her, but then we didn’t want to make it a costume,” Barron explained to THR. Added Anderson, “Exactly, we didn’t want to make it too much of a throwback.”

Other styles include upcycled tees transformed into tank tops, a black-and-white portrait of Anderson herself, a playful “Pam’s Guide to Happiness” style and cropped untreated organic cotton hoodies and shorts. Everything was made with low-impact washing processes or created from recycled denim and sweaters.

Though Re/Done previously released a “Girl” baby tee inspired by Anderson’s now-iconic ’90s look, this collection marks the first time that the Los Angeles-based label and the Baywatch star have teamed together.

Pamela modeled her collection in a playful campaign shot by an all-woman team, including stylists Lolita Jacobs and Katie Burnett, directors Java Jacobs and Lea Colombo and makeup artist Cyndle Komarovski.

The Re/Done collection follows Anderson’s documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, which was released last year. The film shares the 56-year-old Canadian star’s life story, from her journey to Hollywood to her well-publicized romances and the sex tape scandal (which was chronicled in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy miniseries, in which Anderson was not involved.)

THR caught up with Anderson and Barron at Monday’s launch party to chat about how the collection came to life, finding confidence and and more. Below, read more and see pieces from the collection, and shop the full Re/Done & Pam capsule at the brand’s website and Net-A-Porter.

How long has this collection been in the works, and what was the conversation that led to the collaboration?

PA It’s kind of been [in the works for] a lifetime, because we’re Malibu friends and family and everyone kind of grew up together. Here we are, but really this collaboration, a year?

SB Yes, a year. Actually, Brandon [Anderson’s son] brought it up because of the “Girl” T-shirt.

PA It kind of started off with that, right?

SB We thought, maybe we can give Pam a “Girl” tee. And then we started talking. We realized we’re totally aligned in what we care about. The sustainability, the repurposing, being clean and responsible. So we learned that at our lunch. And then we met the first time at our hotel and we just talked for hours.

Besides the “Girl” tee, what were other looks that were the first to come to mind as you were designing the collection?

PA The jeans and body suits that kind of peek out the top. And then the more fitted kind of jean shirt that I wore.

What was the vibe of the photo shoot?

PA Fast and furious! It was so fast. I always shoot really fast and then everyone’s like, ‘We’re supposed to be here. This is all supposed to be contained.’ I’m just a free spirit. I just like to explore in front of the camera and have fun, and who knows what’s going to happen. But [the team was] really great. It was really fun.

“Confidence” is first word that comes to mind when describing the campaign. How do you define that concept in this stage of your life?

PA I just think it’s self awareness and self-acceptance, which is all these wonderful stages that you go through your life; different chapters and how you blend the past and the future, in the moment. And just making bold and courageous choices and being able to speak out and express the freedoms that everyone’s fought so hard for us to have. I’m in kind of what seems like a very surreal time, but you always have to fight for who you are. It doesn’t matter how old you get, you have to fight. You have to remember who you are.

It also calls to mind the reactions to your decision to go makeup-free.

It’s like two steps forward, one step back, right? But you always are pushing the limits. And who says what’s beautiful? It’s all subjective and it really does come from within, as cliché as that sounds. If we use makeup or fashion or whatever, it’s a way of expressing ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world, and it’s all really important. I think it’s frivolous, the beauty industry. But as long as you’re okay with who you are underneath it all, that’s the key.

SB That’s Pam’s guide to happiness.
