Nicholas Galitzine may be winning over movie fans in Bottoms and Amazon’s Red, White & Royal Blue, but the British actor has some seriously impressive singing chops as well, as seen in an old YouTube video recently unearthed by fans.

In the video, posted to YouTube three years ago, Galitzine performs a cover of Lana Del Rey’s 2012 hit, “Summertime Sadness.” Strumming an acoustic guitar and sitting in what appears to be a bedroom, the multi-talented star shows off his seductive voice as he sings — and strums — the first verse and chorus of Del Rey’s song.

The clip has since racked up almost a million views online, with fans in the comments pointing out the irony of the actor singing a Del Rey song after his character in Red, White & Royal Blue, Prince Henry, is teased by love interest Alex about being too sentimental. “Who says ‘make love’ these days?” Alex (played by Taylor Zakhar Perez) quips. “Are we going to listen to Lana Del Rey while we do it?”

After debuting as the number one movie on Prime Video earlier this month, Amazon says Red, White & Royal Blue is now among the top three most-watched romantic comedies of all time on the streamer (the company didn’t disclose what the other two titles were).

Based on the best-selling book by Casey McQuiston, the LGBTQ rom-com explores what happens when America’s First Son falls in love with the UK’s Prince of Wales. The book is currently on sale for just $10 on Amazon.

And while the cover may have been on YouTube, Galitzine is no stranger to singing on the big screen too, having starred in 2021’s Cinderella remake (alongside Camila Cabello). Playing Prince Robert (a.k.a. Prince Charming), Galitzine is featured in the movie and soundtrack performing a cover of Queen’s “Somebody to Love.”

As for Del Rey, the singer kicks off a 10-day U.S. tour this month that takes her through cities in the South and Mid-Atlantic region. Find Lana Del Rey tickets online through Stubhub and Vivid Seats.
