Meta’s Newest Quest 3S Headset Is Out Now: Here’s Where to Buy the Mixed-Reality Device Online

As a follow up to 2023’s Meta Quest 3, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the new Meta Quest 3S, the company’s latest mixed-reality headset, in late 2024.
The device is now available starting at $299.99 from retailers, like Target, Best Buy and Amazon.

The Meta Quest 3S comes with a VR headset, two Touch Plus controllers and a free digital copy of the action VR game Batman: Arkham Shadow (a $49.99 value).
It’s equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 (Gen 2) processor (the same chip inside the Meta Quest 3), resulting in more detailed, smoother graphics than the Quest 2. Meanwhile, the new headset’s speakers are also 40 percent louder than the Quest 2, offering 3D audio that’s clear and rich with thumping bass.

Additionally, its Touch Plus controllers provide even more precise navigation and tracking and better haptic feedback compared to the Quest 2’s “ring” controllers, resulting in immersive and authentic sensations during experiences. The Quest 3S offers a controller-free experience with the Direct Touch feature that follows your hand gestures, while the headset’s design is comfortable.
Meta Quest 3S (256GB)
The Meta Quest 3S comes in a 128GB model and features a mixed-reality experience that blends virtual images into your actual surroundings. For additional storage, the headset comes in a 256GB model at $399.99. Both models also come with a bonus three-month Meta Quest+ subscription — which is valued at $23.97 ($7.99 per month).
The service includes two curated VR titles per month (24 releases in total per year) that can range from gaming, entertainment, wellness, fitness, social media and more. Meanwhile, you can pick and choose more than 500 experience apps — such as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon’s Prime Video and much more.
If you have the Meta Quest 2, consider upgrading to the Meta Quest 3S for its updated features, such as a a faster processor and full-color passthrough instead of greyscale. However, if you already have the Meta Quest 3, then you may want to upgrade to the Meta Quest 4 when it drops at the end of 2025.
