The Home Chef x Minecraft menu includes eight options starting at $7.99 per serving. The Crafter’s BBQ Turkey Meatloaf includes cornbread “wheat blocks,” the vegetarian-friendly Evoker’s Pesto Gnocci is served with dark forest spinach and peas, the Villager’s Beef Shepherd’s Pie comes with harvested mashed potatoes and the Bee’s Knees honey dijon steak features loaded baked potatoes.
There’s also a Glowdust Chicken Nuggets with golden dipping sauce, chicken BLT sandwiches with dark forest greens, one-sheet Golden Apple Chicken with smashed potatoes and a mushroom and swiss beef burgers with truffle potato and carrot fries.
New customers can also get their first week of meals for only $4.99 per serving when they sign up for six to eight meals per week; plus, use code CRAFTER to score an exclusive Minecraft-inspired bag clip of Steve, Alex, Pig or Creeper while supplies last.
A Minecraft Movie lands in theaters on April 4 and is expected to open to $58 million in North America. The Home Chef meals join a growing number of collaborations with the Microsoft-owned video game, including Fossil, NYX Cosmetics, Adidas (which launches a multi-year partnership with Minecraft on April 1), Carters kids clothing, Poppi soda and more.
Inspired by Mojang Studios’ hit sandbox video game, the live-action Minecraft Movie stars Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers and Kate McKinnon. A CG-animated series for Netflix is also in the works.
Mojang made a slew of announcements at its recent Live streaming event on March 26, including movie-inspired downloadable content (DLC) and add-ons.
Released in 2009, Minecraft was acquired by Microsoft in 2014 for $2.5 billion and has sold 300 million copies. It has spawned merchandise including clothing, toys, books, plushes, backpacks, Lego building sets and other products available at Amazon, Target, Walmart and other retailers.
