EltaMD’s cult-favorite formulas have had no shortage of internet buzz. After all, Bravo King Andy Cohen stripped it down a few years back to promote his favorite sunscreen brand for National Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Cut to April 2026, EltaMD, consistently recognized as the No. 1 dermatologist-recommended professional sunscreen brand, is releasing its most cutting-edge product to date, a first-of-its-kind formulation for acne-prone skin.
The UV Clear Blemish-Prone & Oil Balancing SPF 50 is EltaMD’s breakthrough, treatment-focused SPF made for acne that goes beyond just protecting the skin — it corrects it. The brand worked alongside dermatologists, cosmetic chemists and other skin experts to reframe what sunscreen is actually capable of, creating a sun-care product that doubles as an active treatment step for oily, blemish-prone skin.

Retailing for $49 on EltaMD.com, the innovative new face sunscreen is intended to seamlessly integrate into existing daily skin-care rituals. With a lightweight, breathable and non-greasy texture that wears well under makeup (or on its own), the product was formulated to “feel like nothing,” quickly absorbing into the skin with a transparent, natural finish.

For oily, acne-prone and combination skin.
Clinically tested on acne-prone skin, EltaMD’s Blemish-Prone & Oil Balancing SPF 50 was found to reduce visible blemishes by 65 percent, reduce visible oil and shine by 61 percent and reduce visible pore size by 25 percent. The brand recommends applying liberally to the face and neck 15 minutes before sun exposure, and reapplying at least every two hours.
EltaMD’s newest launch joins the brand’s suite of best-selling medical-grade skin products, with a deep emphasis on sun care as skin care. EltaMD’s most popular category, face sunscreen, is available in tinted, non-tinted and color-correcting varieties, with a formula fit for every skin type.
Other categories include full body sunscreen, cleansers, moisturizers, post-procedure products and serums. To help customers tailor inventory to their personal needs, the website lets shoppers sort by skin type, key ingredients and skin concern (i.e. acne-prone/discoloration, dryness/aging and sensitivity/redness).
As of April 13, the EltaMD UV Clear Blemish-Prone & Oil Balancing SPF 50 is available for purchase online at EltaMD.com.
