The 35-time Grammy winner co-founded Cécred with her mother, Tina Knowles, and launched the brand in February 2024 as her answer to hair care for all, with a special focus on science-backed products for curly, kinky and coily hair. The award-winning collection features formulas to help support hair strength and promote length retention without the use of silicones, SLS/SLES, phthalates and parabens.
All products from the brand are dermatologist tested and contain active ingredients such as biopeptide-5 for noticeably improving hair strength, bioactive keratin ferment for strengthening and repairing strands, the essential hair protein biotin and more. Products also infused with Cécred’s Temple Oud signature fragrance, which boasts “notes of oud, Australian sandalwood, warm musk, night-blooming jasmine, Haitian vetiver and violet leaves.”
Cécred Restoring Hair & Edge Drops
Cécred’s Ulta Beauty launch also means that shoppers can take advantage of the retailer’s in-store pickup or same-day delivery for online orders, a service unavailable at the hair care brand’s website.
In her Cécred hair care product review, THR‘s Anaja Smith explained, “If you want a hair care bundle that checks the boxes of functionality and science-backed quality (and has a luxury scent to top it off), we fully recommend Cécred…. the combination of both shampoos allowed for [my] hair to be both squeaky clean and moisturized, and ultimately prepped it for treatment before styling. We found that [the entire at-home routine] helped to boost our hair’s moisture while strengthening and bringing structural integrity to our strands.”
Ulta will offer Scalp Revival, Protein Bounceback and Hydration and Repair treatments with Cécred products at The Salon in-store locations. The brand’s new Ulta partnership marks the retailer’s largest launch to date and will include Cécred Sundays, a weekly series beginning May 18 that brings self-care rituals to shoppers at select 200 in-store salon locations.
