As consumers tighten their pocketbooks, telecom companies are luring new and former customers with offers of free iPhone 16s, deals on streaming services and price lock guarantees.

T-Mobile recently tapped Oscar winner Zoe Saldaña to front its new campaign for its new Beyond Experience plans that include a free iPhone 16 Pro, Netflix, Apple TV+ and Hulu; while Verizon enlisted Pete Davidson to promote its three-year price lock guarantee initiative. Ryan Reynolds has played a starring role in ads for Mint Mobile (the affordable phone plan brand he joined in 2019 as an investor), which is offering new customers a new Samsung Galaxy S25 phone with unlimited plans for $30 per month.
