From the runway to street style to social media and beyond, bag charms have firmly maintained their grip on the fashion world. The handbag add-ons saw their first big resurgence when hashtag “birkinify” began trending on TikTok in 2024. Users were seen adorning their purses — Hermès Birkin or other — with charms, keychains, twillies and beads. And just when the craze got a whisper of dying down, Labubu-mania entered the chat, welcoming bag charm revival 2.0.
Throughout the year, Blackpink’s Lisa, Dua Lipa and lots more A-listers have been spotted coveting the mega-viral accessory sold in randomized blind boxes. And while the Labubu chokehold may be coming to a close, it’s only given way for other undeniably fun purse accessories and collectibles to make their mark.
