On the heels of Cynthia Erivo and Adam Lambert’s sold-out three-day L.A. run of Jesus Christ Superstar, another buzzy musical is hitting the City of Angels.
& Juliet, which made its Broadway debut in 2022, features music by Swedish songwriter and producer Max Martin, a central force behind Taylor Swift’s upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl. While Swift’s songs aren’t included in & Juliet‘s soundtrack, the musical has no shortage of well-loved no.1s written by Martin, including hits from Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Céline Dion and Bon Jovi, to name just a handful. Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the plot turns the playwright’s iconic tragedy into an upbeat musical comedy.
